The mysterious lockup
« on: March 12, 2006, 10:02:45 PM »
I believe we got the lock up pne step close today 10 great passes today all had 130 somthing 60's. Ranged from 1.37 to 1.31, but we did pick up at the top end like we did in the 60's, but our sped was good. I believe it was slipping on top end, but couldn't really tell. We are runnng 11's and 13's like alwasys but are using the gold 2 gram bolts from mtc. Hmm what a mystery.

Hmmm...  Mine was relatively easy on clutches...  Now with the lockup not in the bike, I'm starting to go through them like crazy again.  :?

The lockup might find it's way back in the bike, only this time with a ton of static pressure so I can ride it like I do now, and not have to worry about driving through the clutch on the top end.

You were nowhere near 1.30's...  Your best 60' was like 1.58 so it was no where near setup right....  Do you have proof the clutch is your problem yet?  Maybe the Brock cushion is causing it?  My clutches has been in my bike for 6 mos now and no problems.  WHo knows....

I guess the stack of 1.30ish slips i have is totally wrong, LOL 1.58 on a bad day, kinda like running 9.0's in the quater would be a bad day for us. Well when i look at the time slips , the time seem to fall off on the top end, with a 1.36 60' it was a 5.76 at 121.95, that is were i am getting that the lockup is slippin'. what do you all think

Not familiar with lockups for the 1000, but on a busa multi-stage, you adjust the arm clearance by altering the stack height.

There we go have to do something or change something so we can show somebody something. BLAH BLAH, why don't you stretch yours out and buy a lockup then  show us how to do it, when we were shorter we ran high 5.80s to 6.0's with a stock clutch set up. We like to go fast and if that means stretching farther out to keep the lighter bike down then so be it.

Hey - i just want to see how the pro's do it...  Come to Gville and whoop all us locals in the 1/4...   Bring a rider to match my weight and you still have the total weight advantage.  My bike is a corner turning daily driver so i don't want to stretch it anymore or put a sidewinder on it.  There will be plenty bikes faster than me if you want.  Matter of fact a bunch of bikes will be in Douglas this Sunday from Jax - maybe you could go hit them up since i will be working on mine.

And that 5.76 equates to about 8.96 so 9.0's aren't too bad for you...  You do have me covered but i am always willing to watch and learn...
