The Z1R's were actually uncrated at ATP (American Turbo Pak) in Santa Ana, Ca, Turbo installed along with the new TC side cover emblem, recrated and then shipped on. ATP was owned by Bill Hahn Sr. but he sold out not long after the RTC thing started. Bill was one sharp dude. As a teenager I used to hang around ATP. Even remember when Jr. was born. I had a 750 Honda with his kit and then did a Z1 around 1977. Compared to today they were slow but just like today they were damn near as fast as a Pro Stock was then and at the time the Pro Stock leader was Terry Vance / Byron Hines, both working for RC engineering (Russ Collins), in Gardeana, CA. Aah the good old days! God this seems like a lifetime ago!

That is one clean H2. Any chance it's for sale? That too was my first bike in Jan. 1972 and I'd like to find one just for fun.

Ant and Hog,

Thanks for the compliments on my H2. Sorry, it is not for sale, I will probably keep it for ever. My best friend worked at a Kawasaki dealer in the 70's and he built many out of the crate. We did mine from front to back, and made it the way we rode them back in the 70's.

Still very cool to go out for a little spin, and see the young kids look when they hear the two stroke on the road.

Ant,

Probably 3500 - 4000, 5000 if it is the right person. My buddy just sold a really nice 74 H2 green for 7500.00. I also heard there was a new, never ridden 72 H2 blue on E Bay for like 15,000. I guess its how bad someone wants what you have.

Take care, Mike

Dam, I wanted one of those things so bad I could taste it!  Oh well, my ole trusty CB750 was fun anyway..
