As Britian holds the current world landspeed record, our guys are having another go.

The driver (pilot) is the same guy who took the record in Thrust SSC.
What a great bunch of guys !!! 

The JCB element makes me laugh..... no there isnt any room for shovels in the back or
mugs of tea on the dashboard

How fast do they hope to go? If they're coming out to Bonneville, I look forward to seeing it. 

There have been some fast Diesel vehicles on the Salt. The late Carl Heap still holds the record as the fastest: http://www.ugofadini.com/phoenixstory.html I was fortunate to witness his record setting pass in '03.

in one of the current industry publications that we get, they said that they are shooting for 300mph, it has two huge diesel motors with like 750hp each.... not too bad, but at the same time i was kinda suprised when i saw it myself, id prefer for them to leave the land speed thing to us type of guys and we can leave construction equipment to them.

The team are arriving today the 6th August for speed testing on 12th to 18th and the attempted
record on or around the 20th August.

They have hit over 200mph on tests here but that is nowhere near its full potential
