Pic of Tiger 2lb bottle mounts
« on: May 10, 2006, 11:13:47 AM »
Does anyone have a pic of a 2lb bottle mounted in the Tiger mount kit, with a tiger tail on the bike also?
Does the valve go to the rear of the bike or front?
Thanks

Not much angle on the bottle with Tiger mount  ..................certian to loose a lot of bottle capacity ! So I found out ....................the hard way. Bottle needs a lot more angle probably around 60 degrees to get max useage out of it.

mine worked fine
the bottle would be about 1lb 10-12oz empty
Did you find that the bottle kinda rattles around inside the hump unless you put some kind of foam behind it? The bracket also scratches the bottle since it rubs up against it  :?

Much better than no tube at all, able to drain the bottle just about all the way.

I installed a rubber bumper to cure the rattle and stop the bottle from moving. Works perfect! I also installed little velcro pads on the brackets. I accidently scratched my panel with the bracket,(my fault, should have been more careful), when I was disconnecting my bottle. The velcro just provided some extra insurance.

BTW, I also did the siphon tube mod (curved tube). I think with the positioning of the bottle in the hump it's a worthy mod.

How many 1/4 pass's you get off the 2 lb bottle and at what Hp. NoS is starting to look nice, thinking of doing a small 20 hp shot wet kit. Dont know much about NoS so thinking wet might be safer, dont want to have to load 2 maps either but not sure.

I've only been to the drags once since my install. I made all my runs except the last one without the bottle. I needed the practice and was seeing how fast I could go without the juice. So, I can't accurately answer your question. I will say that the 2 lb lasts much better than I thought it would. Not bad!

My system is a dry system. I use a #36 jet in the solenoid with a split feed line in each air intake. #36 = approx. 40hp The dry nitrous is fine and I've had no problems with it's operation. I run a PCIIIr with the map fattened up from 6,500 - 11,000 rpm at WOT. My nitrous engagement is set to come on @ 7,000 and off @10,600 rpm. Even with the nitrous not being used, it still performs well even though I may have a slight hp loss due to the fuel system being rich up top.

Also, do you constantly run or shift past 6,500 - 7,000 rpm on the street with your Busa? Yea, sometimes I do but it's not a problem with the rich map.

So, don't worry about using a 2lb bottle, (plenty of go-juice), don't worry about running the rich map, and don't worry about a dry system. Just go for it and see what you've been missing out on!

simply using some foam pipe insulation around rubbing points goes along way to help not have metal to metal contact & then mount some foam/rubber strips w/contact adhesive
& you be in bidness.
