Stupid me forgot to screw on the oil cap/dipstick on my F2 @ a trackday last year. I opened it up to cool it down between sessions....
Well I went out...did an entire lap around VIR (Full course)....thought I was rossi cuz no one was passing me....finally @ a control rider caught up to me and pointed me off the track....
oil all over the exhaust, footpeg, even tire, swingarm, etc.
Go to pit in, added about 1 full quart! @ 13,000 rpms the damage was done....by the next track DAY (it seemed fine the rest of the day) I couldn't get past about 110 mph on the straights where was routinely hitting 135+
Started clanging....thought it was valves or cam chain. Had that diesel motor sound, clangy.
Shop threw on a new cam chain....still messed up....diagnosed as either crank or rod bearing failure due to oil starvation @ 10-13.5k rpms for 2 min or so!
Good luck.
