1000's rear shock on busa.
« on: June 07, 2006, 09:24:33 AM »
I was told that the 1000 rear shock could fit the busa, and give it better handling for twisty. Is this ture?

well the busa is a bit heavier...so i cant imagine it would make for better handling. you'd be alot further ahead to have your shock properly sprung and valved to your weight and riding style.

The Poison Idea- TMH T61 Ultra kit (500+ hp), 3-deg frame rake, BST wheels, Speigler 8-pot calipers and masters, Mac 0-6 arm, full CF body work.

I had one on mine (03/04 G1K shock) and it was fine to 60" but at 62" i couldn't keep it from letting the tire hit the underside of the tail no matter how i adjusted it...

It does fit. I run an Ohlins shock for a 1000 on my Busa for Drag racing. I think the spring rate will be too soft on the 1000 shock for improving the handling. The Busa spring is around 50% harder.
