ZX14...9.28@152 first pass!
« on: June 07, 2006, 03:07:21 PM »
Last night at KilKare in Xenia I rode two 14's...the first was bone stock 150 miles on the odometer, the air at the track was terrible...somewhere around 3000' would be my guess. The second bike was Brock's 14 from the diary off dragbike.com,I went 9.94@ 140 on the stocker.... and first pass out of the trailor I went 9.28@152 on Brock's this was with a missed 3rd gear...the bike did go 6.05 in the 1/8. with a different clutch(stiffer springs) I think teens would be no problem on brock's.I love busa's but that 14 is pretty sweet....to go those numbers not being a kawasaki guy or having ANY time on kaws since 1988 speaks highly of the 14 and of the brock set-up on the bike.

Brock just knows how to set up a bike. Congrats on the pass. I'm sticking with the ZUK!

The 14's are getting it down. I made two passes on one that belonged to a local dealer last weekend. Completely stock ( I could barely touch the ground it was so high), less than 300 miles on it and went 6.19 @122 1/8th mile. Chip took his to 131 last weekend and went 9.34 lowered and full Tsukigi Racing exhaust only. The 14's are pulling good numbers for sure !!!

Looking forward to riding one lowered and piped real soon !!!!

I have still only seen one 14 in this area.

I guess they are not too popular around here.

Man I hate that bike but you guys are peaking my interest in it. Now that Schnitz has the low gear / low power program T.R.E., I could see this thing doing some damage. I hate that it's so slow in stock form but it's clear that with some mods it can get up and go.

Holy Crap, I have to sell this ZX-12R!!

My daughter ran a 9.9 on her stock Busa right off the show room floor. The best she has done on the Busa now that it has been lowered, stretched, gears, PC, Brock's Megaphone and maps is a 9.312 at Houston the Friday night before the lastTexas Shootout. The engine is bone stock, valve covers never been off yet and no power adders. I think there is a 9.2 out there with a good shock, new Mac swing arm and air shifter that is on the way for the next Shootout. There still hope for the old Busa if you got somebody that can ride the bike.

She weighs around 135 dressed out in leathers. That run was on 87 octane pump gas @ 149.35 MPH. Could of been better because the 60 foot was only 1.576. She was trying to take off slow, practicing to get a dial in on the Super Street 9.500 index. It's hard to get her to slow down. She did do a 9.501 the next day qualifying but got knocked off the top spot by the last bike out that ran a perfect 9.500. The Houston track is fast and generally hooks up better than San Antonio where we run most of the time. We have run with VP 110 & 112 but the bike generally runs a little slower on race fuel. Pipe looks a lot cleaner but no gains in speed. The bike has never been on a dyno were just running the maps that Brock supplied with the pipe.

Of course 110 octane slowed your down - too much octane and not enough c/r kills power.

I bet if you try U4 or MR9 she would pick up 2-3 mph.

She is flying but you would lose about 3-4 of that MPH in FL.

Congrats though and keep on - i bet you are proud that she can ride like that!

Yes, she is one hell of a rider. I went to South Texas Speedway last night and watched my son win his seventh feature race of the year driving a stock car. Both my kids grew up in the pits watching me race and now I get to watch both them race. God, life is good. How lucky can I be.

i can vouch for her. saw her run at Tx shoout and ran her in one of qualifing for super street class. first race she was sloweri think 50's and 60's but dont remember, but at 2nd race she picked up aloti think she was dialed 9.30 for ET. she rides very good.

new guy at 1/8 track on new 14. older guy in his 50's ran some 7.44@105 in 1/8. he is no jockey or pro or even good rider, but he was consistent on it. his 60's were terrible..2.0's. stock bike with 200 miles on it. i was tempted to see if he would let me make a pass on it..
