Okay... Lots happening this week. I purchased a Ghetto Kit from .org member Nem last week. He stepped up big time and volunteered to make sure it got installed. So last weekend we began the install. After putting in several hours, including a few hours tackling one particular header bolt... we called it a day. Today, Nem returned to my garage, and we finished the install... 333 miles on the bike, and it's boosted...
I gotta say, Nem is a hell of a guy in my book. He put in alot of time to make sure this project happened. He didn't have to do it... But that's the kind of guy he is. I haven't had a sportbike in years. Nem knows his stuff and has helped me out alot. Thanks Nem...
We spent several hours on the turbo install today. Still, the bitch of it was the 3rd bottom header bolt. We went to my buddy Dave's custom bike shop, and fabricated a special allen wrench to get at the bolt. It worked, and the header got done. Damn... Fellas, make sure you snug the bottom bolts first, then tighten the tops... And if (no, when) you need a special allen wrench, give me a shout...
I called Dennis Tuesday and ordered the 2-1/2 inch exhaust with a carbon fiber can. He got it to me in two days. Unfortunately the 5 bolt flange that came with it doesn't fit the kit. So, the project continues... I don't want to cut the fairing, so I'll wait until I can get the right flange for the exhaust... It's always something...
I also have to say... If you install heavy duty clutch springs, make sure you have installed the clutch case support bracket or a billet case. After the springs were in, it only took one clutch pull to crack the case... Add it to the list...
I took it out for a test spin. Sounds tough with the open dump pipe... Lots of rain, and a quiet neighborhood, so the bike is yet to be tested for real... But I can tell she wants to run...
Here are some pics of where it stands...

Other stuff happening...
I received my fairing grills, in charcoal metallic color. They're "pre-formed" but that's funny. Some dude lays chickenwire over his fairing openings and presses them down. That's "pre-formed". I should get into that business... I wont install the grills until I have the exhaust in place and have fitted the up pipe properly. Going for a stealthy look... Should have them installed the day after I get the exhaust flange...
Got a Dyna shift light. I should have it on this weekend...
Got some miscellaneous carbon fiber parts and will install as I go...
My black anodized grips and bar ends are on the way...
Tomorrow, I'll re-install the upper fairing and try to Call Dennis again... Waiting on that one final part is painful....
Planning to purchase a set of Marvic Penta II wheels from a .org member...
Planning to purchase a 4-6 inch over swingarm, in satin black...
And of course... I'm getting the clutch case support bracket...
More to come...
