I told my crank guy to remove the balancer gear on my next crank.  i am also going to plug off the oil passagway to the counter balancer to try to get a little more oil to the crank.  I know some one who did this along with several other things and has had not had any more crank issues.  Knock on wood.

Most of the 1000 cranks that come in here, the guys are having the balancer gear removed.

My velocity kit came with billet plates with O rings in them to block off the oil cooler holes in the block.

Mine has been out for years, be sure to plug the oil passage.  I tapped the hole and installed a set screw.
