bike wont start...
« on: June 29, 2006, 01:24:17 AM »
newbie here with a problem...

i have a 01 busa that i recently purchased. when i bought it it was already taken apart for a repaint. bike ran before it was taken apart. i have started to put it back together, but now i have a problem.. i went to start the bike the other day and it wont crank.. when you turn the key on the tach jumps to 7500, the speedo goes to 60mph, the temp gauge goes into the red, and the clock says "chec".. oh and it puting on the miles to..

i unplugged the ecu and the tach went to 0rpm, every thing else stays the same. unhook the speed sensor and the speedo goes to 0mph. unpluged both temp sensors and the temp gauge stays burried.

im pretty sure the problem is in the instrument cluster, unfortunatley i cant find anyone in my area with a hayabusa to plug my cluster into to confirm this..

any ideas?

sorry if i posted this in the wrong forum.

same answer i came up with last nite, just need a wiring diagram, or some one to tell me what wire colors/pin numbers for the cluster grounds. i was thinking that the cluster may ground through the ecu and the reason why the tach is only affected when i unplug it, is that that is the only gauge that is supplied power and ground through the ecu.. just an idea..
