Oh oh, extra part left over. Where does this go?
« on: July 07, 2006, 10:05:57 AM »
Here is a photo of a small metal dowel that appeared in my parts box after I removed and replaced my busa head. I don't remember taking it out of anything, but that is typical. Can anyone ID this? It is a 2" long, polished steel rod about 3/16" in diameter. Looks like it may be used to push something. It could be from something unrelated, I just don't know.

???
Thanks

Looks similar to the push rod for the cam chain tensioner!? Did you remove it? May want to look. Better to be safe than sorry

did you take the bolt out of the back of the timing chain tensioner when you done your head? that's what it looks like to me also, pull the plug out of the tensioner and stick it in the center of the spring.

Thanks Busa01 and BusaMagic. I think you both have the solution. I will take apart the tensioner when I get back home later today
