2 or 4 inch stretch
« on: September 04, 2006, 05:45:24 PM »
looking for pics of a 2 and 4 inch stretch.
how much additional launch effort does each allow?

I am also thinking about a 4 over tail......would 4 inch stretch be too short?

I do not want an adjustable rear, I want a fixed.
I should really be over at LABusas.

No. Mine is a 6 over arm from Myrtle West. You can see details in my build thread in Members Projects. Very clean arm.

the prices seem to be in the $400-$500 range without doing the box option
your 6 still looks good and would be in proportion with a 4 over tail.

Personally, I think a 4 over arm is perfect. Both proportionately and all around performance-wise. I think a 4 would look fine with a stock tail. I got a 6 because I just don't care about corners...

Mine is a Busa arm with the top box removed and lower brace installed. MWC's extended boxes are actually tapered the same as the stock arm to look close to OEM. More detail in my build thread. Thanks.

I'm getting to be of the same opinion about corners.  With 6 inches over, does the front stay
planted when you whack the throttle?
The mystical trend of our time, which shows itself particularly in the rampant growth of the so-called Theosophy and Spiritualism, is for me no more than a symptom of weakness and confusion.

Yep it stays planted as it usually just blazes the back tire off so it cant wheelie.... i wish i had gone 4" instead of 6" on mine, with the gear change i have and the stretch it fries the shinko once it clears 8000rpm..... honestly i dont think the handling is THAT bad for 6" over, certainly nowhere as good as stock but it still turns OK, i just wish it would hook better... i guess if i ran really low air pressure on the street and a soft spring and compression it would probly hook a little better on the street... on the track it hooks fine though

I am 6 over now but when I was 7 over it was actually still wheeleing on the street. If I was cruizing around 20 ish and whacked it with warm streets it popped rite up, especially if the wife was on it too. ( street bike ). At 6 it is still  pretty hard to keep it down and thats strapped too. I usually 60ft in the 1.41- .48 range.
