2 stage lockup - What do I need
« on: September 02, 2006, 09:48:40 AM »
I am considering moving to a 2 stage from stock setup.  What exactly do I need to buy to make a 2 stage work?

I don't have one yet, but been thinking about it for a while, lock up, cover or have yours modified, 1 piece clutch mod or weld your 2 piece, and a recommended set up before you ride it. From what I've seen a lot of people start out with too lite of springs and not enough weight and burn clutches. I would rather start out with a little too much and back down from there. You need to understand how it works!

I ride my Bike in the streets some times with a Single Stage. My understanding is the difference between single and 2 stage is that on the 6 arms the Single all has the same weights and the Dual Stage 3 arms light weights (Like the Bolts and Nuts and maybe 1 washer) and other 3 arms have the Bolts and Nuts but 2 or 3 washers for more weight!. I use Normal springs and just the Bolt & Nut with 1 washer. Remember it is a Speed thing and when sitting still, No wieght is applied but as speed increases the weight gets a lot greater!
