Stock can question
« on: August 03, 2006, 07:26:59 PM »
I know I will get the "Get an aftermarket exhaust statement" but I really love the look of the duals.  Where is the weight in the stock cans?  Is it the tube itself or the insides?  I am going to mod them and try to get them polished or maybe powder coated.  And if I was to go with a straight baffle where did you guys pick up the straight baffles that you used?  There is alot of crap inside that tube.

alot of the weight is in the mid pipe...and theres no fixing that (short of replacing it). the cans do loose some weight if you gut them, but the shells still weigh quite a bit.

The Poison Idea- TMH T61 Ultra kit (500+ hp), 3-deg frame rake, BST wheels, Speigler 8-pot calipers and masters, Mac 0-6 arm, full CF body work.

I understand.  I figured as much because the actual can looked pretty thick.  I remember someone on here saying that they cut and cleaned up the midpipes as well.  I just want a project to do and I like the look of the duals so I am going to work on them.  I haven't decided yet if I want to go ahead and gut them or just play with them awhile to see what King of sound I can get first.
