Add Quick Disconnect To PC3USB??? Opinions Welcome...
« on: August 23, 2006, 12:06:32 AM »
I just got mine in a week or so ago and I'm enjoying playing with it and modifying stuff here and there for it.  But the down side is I can't bring the bike inside to connect it to the computer, don't own a laptop so I have to:
1. Work on a cooled engine
2. Pull up tank
3. Remove both seats
4. Remove ground wire from battery
5. Feed the wire out

All this to bring the PC3 inside to download a little adjustment.  My idea is to use a XX# pin weather-proof connector, splice the wires and put it in between them.  Then all I do is have to remove my rear seat, disconnect and bring inside.

Anyone see any problems I could encounter doing this??

Now that's cool!!!  But from a $$-stand point, wouldn't it be more feasible to just put a harness inline with the PC3?  Other than the easy of plugging it in, another positive to the 100+ ft cable would be I'd need no power source to download maps. :)
