My daughter has had an opportunity in the last couple months to do a comparison test on the 06 ZX10 and the 06 GSXR. Both of the bikes were in AMA Prostar 1000SS configuration, stock wheel base, 3" ground clearance, no ballast and foot shifting. She probably had around 30 passes on the ZX10 before racing it at Gainsville. The ZX10 proved very difficult to keep the front end down in 1st and second and a real monster to ride. She got beat in the first round but it was her best time on the bike with a 9.529. About the middle of pack as far as times go but she had to race Teasley. This last weekend she got to test the 06 GSXR. On the Suzuki she is flat footed where on the ZX10 she is on her toes. The Suzuki is lower to the ground even though both bikes are at 3" ground clearance. She only did 6 passes on the GSXR but on her third pass she did a 9.43. She was able to throw the clutch on the 3rd pass and ride the bike out with 1.6 - 60 footer. She stated that if she had tried that on the ZX10 then she would have flipped the bike. The ZX10 can be fast but very hard to be consistant with good times. The Suzuki much more predictable, fast and easier to ride. No wonder why the Suzuki dominates the 1000 SS class.
