Just watched rustmans vid and can't help but be impressed by the condition of the race surface.

texas:

 common sense tech inspection. fewer people. track surface is pristine. pits are pristine. straight line to launch. mexican restaurant is kick ass. breakfast sandwiches at the corner market by the hotel are incredible.

 heat and wind can be interesting. shut down is short comparatively. can not license for bonneville here. its in the middle of know where. flies galore. stand a chance of being shot by Dick Cheney.

maxton:

 safety first. SCTA compatable licensing. long shutdown. land racing is their primary objective as an org. unique facility. decent on site food. more bikes.

 interesting track setup. track surface is sketchy for low bikes, but improving. mosquito's galore. grass pits suck.

shut down is supposed to be 1/2 mile at Texas. How about Maxton?

1/3 mile to short turn off. and another 1/2 mile or so after that is the long turn around.   Plenty of room.

As BBB said.  Maxton is not great for slammed bikes. Surface irregularities may take out thoes with less than 4" ground clearance (this is a guess)   Suspension matters alot there in my opinion.

But there is plenty of shutdown, and plenty of traction to take the short shutdown at 220+ in my opinion

Don't lend out your wife or your bike, someone will throw a rod in either one of them...
