With the new/old 2005 Mercades SL55/Convertible-Hardtop with.....certified only 4..........YES 4,000 LOUSY MILES..........

Supercharged Roadster/2 seater.........498/519 HP/Torque..........5 spd automatic..........

It sold new for 124K two years ago............

They (Nascar Family) just now traded it in on an '07...........

It is Black

It is for sale.........asking 94,500 but.........BUT.........will accept any serious offer.

I'm thinkin' I'll go over there tomorrow and offer to write a check for 82,500 and see

what the reaction would be?????   

(I have 114K in the Account today)   I would love to "Steal" this fuggin' ride.

Comments???  Advice????  How to get the obscenely best deal.........that is my simple goal......

(Nice Car, also, BTW)...... :D

Those cars depreciate very fast. Two years from now, it will be worth about half of what you would pay.

They are nice cars though. I had a '94 SL600 back in 2000. Naturally aspirated 48 valve V-12. 389 hp 420 lb-ft. Back then, it was worth about 1/3 of it's original value.

you dont.
find a broker. in your area. dime a dozen on ebay, let them find THE car and jew 'em on the price.
trust me, you will save 10-20% easy.
had a doc I work with looking for a 355 spider convertible. looked for 18 months before he figured out which car he wanted. took 6 more to find one at the right price on fleabay. but, he went down with cash in hand for a listed $78k car and I drove it out for $70OTD.
fleabay is the perfect market to find guys consigning through a broker.

          I would/will not buy this car with the idea of making a dollar on it............I would only buy it if it tottally-trips-my-trigger..............

I really do not care about resale at this point in my life.........just value/performance for the dollar....... :wink:

Well, you should do what you want. I'd be inclined to find an '04-'05 SL600, for about the same money.

Or if you really want the ultimate SL, how about an '05 SL65 AMG. 604 hp/ 738 lb-ft.

wheeling and dealing on high end cars is a real bitch. cause if you have 85k to blow on a very impractical car....you have 95k....and probably 125k to blow too.
