Keep it under 300 hp with a good tune, and spray it.

With a proper tuning you should be fine but there's never any guarantee.
I've got over 6000 miles on mine running both wet and dry systems and it's still going strong with 1397 wiseco pistons.

You can run up to a 40 on a controller but i would say stay near 30 to be safe.  Hell it's only money - do what you want.... :thumb:

Mines an 01, I put a dry kit on it when it had about 2000 miles on it. At 6000 miles I put in the 1397 Wiseco with Yosh ST1 cams. at about 9000 miles I went to a small jet wet kit ( got tired of messing with the PCII when I sprayed). Pushing 260hp on spray, tuned by Ryan Schnitz. I have the map touched up every spring. It now has 15387 miles on it and I've never had the rods touched. Bottom end has been apart but that was to put in a back cut transmission and have the shift drum mod done and new shift forks, but nothing to the crank and rods. I don't drag race it but i do beat the crap out of it on the street by means of a lot of spray 8)
I did a leak down on it this summer and had 1/2 % leakage on cyls 1&2 and 0 % on 3&4. So maybe I'll get another summer out of it before I have to tear it down to freshen it up.
With the NOS on the 1397 you should invest in a tranny and shift drum mod upgrade if you want it to shift on spray with an air shifter.

Hope this answers your question.

Thanks Tom.  Marks is going out today along with a set of new pistons.  Take a good look at the aluminum in his head between the exhaust seats.  That usually burns before the seats.  I have to fix a lot of them.
