Ignition mappings for 5th nd 6th gears
« on: January 07, 2007, 07:55:54 PM »
Hi Guys,

Does anyone know if there is any difference in the ignition mappings for 5th and 6th gears.   By changing the resistor for 6th gear to 6.8kohm, the rev limiter at 6th gear is removed, by making the ECU think that 6th gear is 5th gear.  However, how about the fuel curve in the lower RPM range ?

In the lower RPM range, is the 5th gear map richer ?  or the 6th gear map is richer.   By doing this modification, the advantage is that the cut-off at 11k RPM is removed, but will it affect the pickup in the lower RPM range at 6th gear ?

Does the bike rev faster at 6th gear after modd,   or does it rev slower compared to stock ?

anyone knows..

Thanks..

your not gonna notice any difference at all. and its not gonna change the 11,000 cut off all it does is eliminate the speed restriction. if you want to extend the rpm range you have to get your ecu modified.
