I've cruised some 14 forums in effort to see pics of head , the chamber , inlet and exhaust port, find out bucket diameter ect . Nothing .

Web and Megacycle do not have cam sets listed either nor does Kent in the UK .

Question : Is anyone even building these engines yet ? All motor I mean , not the ATP kits .

Thin gasket, ported head and cams and they make 215rwhp on a stock bore.... :bah:

Mountain, I believe Web is suppling the camshafts used by Adams, Carpenter and Orient Express. The first batches were a bit expensive as they had to hard chrome the journals after welding-up the lobes..........because of distortion issues arising from rifle drilled camshafts. Separately, I have not forgoten your request.

Not knowing any of the actual dimensions and just guessing after reading at Carpenters site , the ZX14 uses same diameter lifter buckets as the ZX12 . If so , they are running over .405 lift as .405 is max before run-off occurs with the 12R .

Out of curiosity , among a few more things than this , I'd like to see before and after head flow numbers and , to know what the actual installed centerlines are from the factory vs what they math out as on paper < 105/105>

I've got one that makes 193.5hp/114.4tq with a BDE Megaphone, PC-USB, Secondary Flies/Filter removed - using U4 fuel. It's not  as strong as my 1397 Busa but the valve cover has never been off of it. The transmission was "sticky" for the first 1000 miles but works perfect now. It made 167hp stock/620 miles, I forgot the torque numbers.

I'm going to get the opportunity to work on a 14 in a couple of weeks and am looking forward to learning more about the engine; as a rule, I only work on my own stuff........but am making an exception in this case. The buckets are 26.5mm, making them measureably smaller than the Busa buckets of 28mm. Using my guidelines, max lift with 26.5mm buckets is around .410 which is very close to what you said about what can be done with the 12 before run-off becomes an issue. Separately, Kawasaki bumped up the compression and is running what I believe to be a 255 degree (@.040) intake camshaft which on the surface looks to be slightly too long for a 11,000 RPM engine with a bore/stroke ratio very similar to a 1397. The kicker, though, is a use of a rod ratio of 1.83 which calls for a longer duration camshaft than a RR of 1.89 (Busa) and which affords more low-to-mid grunt. Compared to Busa geometry, the combination gives them the best of both worlds..........better low/mid grunt and better breathing at high RPM's. Clever IMO.

Gnd, Carpener removes the 26.5mm buckets, bores the bucket sleaves and installs 28mm Busa buckets. I'm not 100% sure they are Busa buckets.............but the mod is pretty much what I have described. It allows the use of higher lift camshafts.

gnd111,

Is someone making a thinner head gasket for the 14?

The only other option that I know of is to remove one of the stock head gasket layers.
