I'm stunned, absolutely numb.
Ever since I met him for the first time on what was labeled the .org Madness Run II in 2001 (the one where Hapo rear ended me at an intersection to end the day), he was both a friend and mentor. With minimal financial dealings between us, calling me a "customer" of his services would be laughable, I learned more about what makes motors really work from him than I have from anyone else.
When he lived in Mass., I was at his house a handful of times, met his wife and family, all of them had the same open friendliness that Dave always displayed. Dave was more than a class act, his upbeat attitude spread to all those around him.
DaveO always said I was slow.
Dammit, Dave, now I'll never catch up.
Rest In Peace, my friend.
