Nate,
Oh my goodness!!! Just when I thought that my eyes have finally, finally, finally, dried out.........then this video came out!!!! It is beautiful and I love the very last picture that you put on it.
You can't imagine how awesome it is to have so many pictures, videos, and memories. It is so hard to fathom the loss, but with so many different people keeping his memory alive, it has made it pass so much easier.
I thank you so much from the bottom of my heart! I know Lauren and the boys will love it and are very appreciative of everything everyone has done for them.
Thank you so much for this!

Finally got a chance to watch the new one. Great job, Thanks! Good choice of song.
I swear a day doesn't go by that I don't think of him on so many levels. :?
I still can't get through listening to the Dave Matthews Band song Fire and Rain without
balling my eyes out. As soon as it hits the line "But I always thought that I'd see you again"
I'm done. But I still listen because I never want to forget.
... off to find some tissues (http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p224/DahMurf/Smileys/tissues.gif)

Wow ... I've been pretty much off this board for 8-10 months and come on to find threads about DaveO passing away at Maxon! I can't believe this has happened! :(
I never met Dave in person, but I've known him since spring of 2000 just after getting a Busa and joining the board back then. We shared tons of technical info and private emails for many years about top end speed, HP, aerodynamics, ram-air, etc, etc to try and achieve the highest top end possible. Always a very knowledgeable guy in the tech department and one hell of a nice guy all around.
DaveO ... you will not be forgotten my friend. RIP in Busaland.

I remember that weekend you were there with Shawn, and Rick too. That was great.
Dave left a big void as a friend, a competitor, and a source of help and inspiration that will never be filled................
I think of him all the time.

Ditto :?
He's truly one of those people to which you're a better person for having known him. Seems those are the kind of people we never get to keep in the here and now but only in our hearts, minds, inspirations & aspirations. I'm just so glad we got to have our "look Dave we did it" moments with him!

Charlies post made me come back to this topic... My self and Charlie met for the first time a few months ago and we went on a ride riding along the side of charlie made me remember Dave and was just picturing Dave riding next to his buddy... Gone But never Forgotten...
-
Nate,
thats really special what you have done there. i am fortunate to have gotten to know Dave as i did. the motorcycles are a large part of our lives, but they can be replaced. the events of the last few years have made me realize there's nothing as important as family and good friends. you're a good friend Nate and i am looking forward to our next ride. hopefully i will get to make it to Maxton this year, i have made so many friends there and its been a couple years since i have seen them.

Dave Owen was a personal friend to many on this site. I spent many evenings in long conversations with Dave, like so many others here. He was the kind of guy you just liked, right away, and the more you talked to him the more you liked him. He gave selflessly to the point of interrupting his life to go out of his way to make sure you had the knowledge you need to proceed on your project.
Dave loved motorcycles from an early age, pretty much like all of us here. He rode and raced friends as a child, pretty much like all of us here. He wanted to know more, always, not about how one thing was a better way, but about why one thing is a better way. A better way to install a bearing. A better way to make a bearing, so that's the one to buy.
It was a hard loss when Dave left us.
-
HUGELY missed
-
RIP.
-
that is how I remember him
When I went 200+ at Maxton for the first time he was happier than I was
I was HOT and tired
-
Dave didn’t even know me but, Hanging out with Trick Tom, Brandon, ZX ALAN, & the legend Charlie Anstaett. I was able to listen to some amazing conversations and hear how much up a genuine person he was. After day 2 of knowing him you just wanted to hang with him like story time around a bon fire lol.. He answered so many questions for so many people and looked at so much data for people I honestly felt bad he was just so nice of a guy. RIP DAVE I hope 50 years from now people still talk about you Dave 🇺🇸🇺🇸
