Yup that guy that fucked up.
The guy that could not handle seeing his business fail and took a chemical vacation to relieve the pain
That guy that had great intentions with the worst results.
Many he helped some got screwed though not intentional it does not make it any less of a screwing on their end.
It is not intent that counts but end results.
It is a valuable lessen on burning the candle at both ends for too long.
I lost my pride dignity,possessions but worst of all of that I lost trust of many many members here and that hurts more than losing cars, bikes, business etc.
I seek not forgiveness but understanding that I am human and a dysfunctional one (at times).
There's no sorry good enough no justification strong enough from where I stand for my actions.
It's one thing to quit bailing water on a sinking ship that you are the only passenger but it's another deal all together when others are involved.
A very hard lessen for me to learn but I suppose the most valuable lessens sometimes come at A high cost.
I wish all of you well.

Sounds like you've been doing some deep, intense soul-searching. That's a good thing, especially for those who are young - it gives one plenty of time to avoid the mistakes they've made considering how much life they still have in front of them.
If your mistakes were all about money ...... remember ...... when a person fucks someone else over for money ...... all they have done is sell their personal credibility.
Personal credibility takes a lifetime to achieve and no amount of money can 'buy' it back ..... always rememeber that.

I have to have patience for it to come about but right now I am about 150 k in the hole 80 of it from borrowing to keep my business afloat from 5 years ago before any of this crap was even in the picture.

When I was down and out after my bike smash in 2001, one thing you can garuantee is there are A holes who
will kick you in the balls when you`re down and keep kicking you whilke you try to rebuild your life and be able to repay your debts.
1/2 my injuries had not been diagnosed, spinal, bust ankle, chronic PTSD, suspected brian injury,etc.
My daughter had a full body MRI scan and had to be seen by an international neurologist with major problems.
My son bust his wrist twice at school.
We had the long term illness and eventual death of a close family member.
My dog died.
My (ex) wifes car was stolen and wrecked.
I had 2 x county court judgements against me.
I had to deal with debt collectors and court bailiffs.
Dealt with an attempted home repo.
Had bent police dealing with my accident case.
Had IR screwing me hard for £70,000 worth of trumped up charges.
I`ve seen plenty of that shit from the low lifes who I owed money too.
Everyone got squared in the end and I got 1% of eff all of any help along the way.
Worn that T-shirt too many times :twisted:
Have to have been there to understand.

I beat every single one of those mofu`s who would not give me one chance to get myself back up and on my feet
physically or financially.
If people wonder why I get angry and have no limits to what I willl do its because of this.

It would have been easier for me to never come back here.

I gave up alcohol after a lifetime career 3 months before my smash. Never went back.

.....It takes a big man to come on here and essentially say "I'm sorry and I effed up" and "I will try to make things right as time and money allows" but it takes a bigger man to Forgive, maybe not to forget but some of the members here need to let it go. Someone may have been screwed out of 100s of dollars as much as 3 years ago. Hmmmm.......your still here aren't you? Its great that D is back and yay and all that shit but we need to proceed with caution. Trust will be earned around here. Does he deserve a second chance?? Ask me last year and I would have said "fuck no". I have since changed my priorities and had a talk with him. I have forgiven but not forgotten and you would be foolish to act like the past 3 years didnt take place.

Feel the same as HOS. I noticed BrianK has a 1000 posts. Was he even around when all this went down? Was he around since the birth of this website to see who all Dennis actually did help for years before he screwed up? And in all actuality, Is any of this his business? We never appointed him or took a vote on who is the unsilent majority here did we?? If TMH is in debt to BrianK than i appologize greatly for saying anything, but as mentioned above I didnt see his name either. I know this, this site and working on Busas was his life and the only life Dennis knew. He screwed up and it was ripped out from under him very quickly as his life crumbled because of poor judgement. I haven't read all of this post but I did read most of it. Some will forgive some will not. Some will give Dennis a second chance some will not. Life is just that way. The man is attempting to make amends for his mistakes. That is more that can be said for most these days. I have never had a crossed word with Dennis and anytime I spoke with him he helped me out. He made me feel dumb sometimes but still helped me out. I am a man of faith and believe in a higher power. Prayers have been answered in what I have read today and in seeing someone attempting to right a wrong. Good to see you back Motorhead!! :thumb:

Welcome back Dennis... I know what you are going thru isn't easy or fun but honesty to friends is very important. We all make mistakes and some of us have made some big ones(trust me I have). Like many have said it is human to make mistakes. Drugs are very hard to deal with and we have all had friends with drug problems, most dont ever get away from them and do the right thing and I congratulate you for taking the step in the right direction. Just take life one day at a time and always try to do the right thing. Your real friends will always be there. Dennis, I'm glad to see you back. It greatly pained me to see you unravel back in the day. I'm actually almost choked up to see you step up the plate, of your own accord, and attempt to put things right even when you have a giant battle on the home-front. If I had sent you tons of $ for a build and been hosed I might feel differently, but I doubt it.
Here's my personal take on stress as it influences behavior if anyone cares: In the last two years I watched my project house go from an expected profit of 80-100k to a loss of $120,00 plus six months of working for free. I watched helplessly as another investment of 75k in real cash vanished and the expected 1000-2000 a week turn into nothing but a 75k debt which in turn required me to re-finance my house (all equity now gone). Everything I had worked for and saved over 10 years was very suddenly gone. During that two year period I became VERY unlike my normal happy go lucky self. I was at times a jerk, a dick, insensitive, I yelled, I swore, and I gave up. I highly doubt that anybody who met me in that two year period was very impressed with my "typical" behavior. I lost most of my financial cushion, lost my house flipping business, lost my turbo bike (couldn't afford the rebuild) and lost my peace of mind. I drank more for a while, but that "more" was just two beers or so every so often. If I had ever been into drugs and had access I may have 'self medicated', and that would have been the final nail in the coffin. I'm safe now, the bleeding has stopped and the storm has passed. Looking back I can only think "what the fu$% was that about!", but it does give me a unique perspective on how stress can unravel one's life. In short Dennis, I know haw stress can break stuff, I feel for your situation and admire you for applying your energies here, as doing so is over and above that which is REQUIRED for survival. I made it through, survived, and I'm relatively happy and back on a path which allows for fun extras like housing, heat etc. I even picked up an 08 w/400miles for 7600.00 (the only wonderful thing about horrible economies is the deals you can get).
All that really happened to me was a bad real estate market and one small total World economic collapse (ha ha). I still have the good stuff: the same loving family, the same friends, and the same small business that has put food on the table through all of the ups and downs. The "good stuff" means more to me than ever. You lost some of that "good stuff" and you're still kicking. The fact that your even back here at all to make restitution shows your metal. GOOD ON YA!!! No pity, just admiration. Now find someone who wants to make the World"s first 800 hp street Busa and get to work. Also, does anyone have that pic of Dennis on the Salt Flats with a trumpet in his butt? Now THAT was funny.

I may have called every hour on the hour but that was well into the nightmare....... for the first several months all Dennis ever heard from me was when I sent a wire transfer. I was a bit concerned at the end..... rightfully so as it turned out.

Dennis I just thought back to one of my last conversations with Dave O. We were talking turbos and such and I asked who he felt had the best knowledge on turbo busas. The first name he stated was yours. To me Dave was the best at what he did and when he would tell me things I would listen and take it to the bank. Dave was and still is one of the most respected people to ever grace the motorcycle world and if he gave anyone credit for thier ability, knowledge and work you best beleive they earned it. Life has so many twists and turns and any of us could find ourselves in a jam. But by the grace of the good Lord we sometimes have a chance to right our wrongs and make amends for our mistakes. The true blessing is just to see that you have made the turn around and have owned the lesson that comes with it all.

There are not many people that would try to make things right after wronging people in a situation. If TMH gets back on his feet, I can trust, he will do all he can for the people he owes even if he doesn't have the cash to put it in cash. If I would have lost thousands of dollars with TMH, I am not sure what my perspective would be; I had some issues right before things really fell apart, but can't say I was ripped off in dollars.
Dennis was a nice guy and I do believe he will take care of the people he owes. I am the same way... If something went terribly wrong and I owed my customers, I would definetly do whatever I could to help them out with anything when they needed it.
I was not the biggest fan back in the day of TMH when I bought my stuff and I was pretty verbal about it as well. I am not a nutcracker, but I am not a nutsucker either... :lol:

Then i posted here ,E-Racer shoots me back yeah i got one so i say how much he shoots back whats your address next thing you know there a chain guard on my door step. E-Racer wouldn't even let me pay the shipping!I myself sold a few 86 gixxer parts on Gixxer.com to three long standing member's there nothing major i new i was getting out of the old school stuff so i threw in levers, fender , plugs, i had because i know these guy could use this stuff didn't know what shipping would be so i told them just shoot me a payment when it gets there. Long story short never got a cent. Not even a thanks for the extra stuff. It was small dollars for the stuff so i just took it as a leaning lesson. My point is this board has alot of great real motorcyclist's on it and if one of us is down for what ever reason we should be there to try to help pick them up. As for Motorhead, I watched my 36 year old sister drink and drug her self to her death. No matter what we did we couldn't help her. I applaud you for pulling yourself out of that dark hole, money can be earned, you can get respect back but you cant replace a life! So keep in the direction your going and fight the good fight there are alot more people here pulling for you then there are the negative.

I got off the beaten path myself back in the early '90s;had a thriving tattoo studio in Mesa AZ,3 bikes(HD's),always a pocket full of money(and an 8 ball...or three),a dozen girlfriends(plus being married with 2 small kids),etc.Before i knew it i'd fucked off the business,wife caught me several times with the other women and divorced me,had to sell all the bikes/tat equip./huge Snap On roller chests and all my other tools(welders,etc.).Came over here to CA and ended up doing a 2 year stretch in Susanville,coming out to the streets with $200 gate money and a duffel bag of clothes.Have been doing good for the past 10 years and intend on staying that way.I'd be the last sonofabitch to ever kick anybody when they're down and one of the first to give a hand up,having been down that path myself. :thumb:

I have known Dennis sicne before he launched this site, back in the day.
I have spent much time with him in his shop, drank plenty of beers with him, and spent many days / nights at his house and have always been treated like family. I know him about as good as anyone here and know hwta kind of person he is. Deep down inside he is one of the most thoughtful and caring friends you could have. He went through a bad phase (don't we all) and did some things he's not proud of, but I know deep down he will prevail and make things right with everyone who suffered losses during the phase when he had some troubles. I know first hand he's not under the influence of anything anymore and how much it means to him to be able to repay those who he inconvenienced.
He's coming here tomorrow to stay with me for a week or longer and I am excited to welcome him to my home just as he has done for me on many occasions. Deep down inside he's a good guy and means well and he will make things right with everyone.
It takes a hell of a man to come back here with a tarnished name while the naysayers just give him shit. We are all human and we all make mistakes in our lives. It's how you overcome those mistakes and make things right with those in your life, that should be judged. You can't help somoene who isn't willing to help themselves... we all know that. Dennis WILL make things right with everyone I guarantee and I'll always be here and my door will always be open to him and his family as long as he's clean, doing the right thing, and helping himself just as he has been for the past year.
Thse who are giving him shit really have no right. They obviously don't know the man like myself, carl, crazybill, noonan, and others.
Im proud of you Dennis for being on the right path now. Time will take care of everything. See you at the airport tomorrow morning!!!

Three years ago when I resigned my position and walked away from this site in disgust, I never imagined that I'd log in here again.
I am surprised that you would come back to the board you created all those years ago, knowing that you would undoubtedly face some very angry customers and friends.
Dennis, it takes a big man to admit his wrongdoings.
I remember like it was yesterday working on bikes at Bonneville with you, Hank, and Danno. Those were some good times.
I truly hope you achieve your goal of making things right with everyone that needs to be made whole, and in time regain the respect you once commanded, and perhaps most importantly the self-respect one needs to have to live a decent life.

To MH glad your back, hope you life keeps takeing steps forward and up.
