Title: Transmission ratcheting in 1st gear.. Clutch basket?

Had the bike out last weekend, it started ratcheting in first gear on launch. I did replace the chain and made sure it was tight. Its a really fast ratcheting in 1st. The bike is a 1441 2008. I thought I saw a thread a while ago saying it could be the clutch basket, but can"t find that thread/post.

The basket does have significant heat signature evidence at the back, browning discoloration, I will post a picture shortly. Could this be the cause? Anyway to check prior to replacing?

What do you mean by ratcheting?   you sure your chain aint hitting the gaurd when you launch the bike?

Did you change the sprockets ?
