I don't do social media, so I guess all of my friends are lost in cyberspace.
What a shame!
LABusas is still active, though not to the extent of the old days.
I am finally getting around to re-building my Busa 10 years after it tore my leg off. Hoping to be riding it in the spring.

long time no see Big D... lost wages for the moment, snow bird type deal, had great riding weather.. then it got cold, and rained... weird...

riding an 04 busa, 2000 gsxr 600 and a 1999 gsxr 750 that getting restored, again.. ride when I can, lately its been treacherous with all this face mask debacle, no one wants to ride it seems, strip has been real slow.. not sure how long this town can keep up at this pace?.. 20% is a good weekend? shuttin down left and right, lots a places hangin in there tho, amazingly

how is the ankle doin? man that was a while back then you got that hot mustang I remember that was a beauty, still motorin that one?

In Vegas, eh? I lived there once upon a time ago.
Looks like you've got plenty of toys to ride! :redthumb:
Ankle? I lost my leg just below the knee, so ankle is fish food.
I recently traded the Shelby Mustang for a McLaren MP4-12C,  a LOT of fun and faster than the Shelby

aw, holy fook, last I heard it was just your ankle as going or I heard wrong?.. is it healed up OK now or is it a chronic pain situation?

nice McLaren, Shelby was nice too I remember you posted a few pics up, I like those Shelby's

whats the top speed on the McL or have you tested it? silly question of course you have...

sounds like you may be trying to ride some?

looks like it has some sort of gran torismo brake rotors like brembo makes.. floating rotors, nuts, that's some seriously big brakes on that McL... wouldn't wanna have to replace those...    :punk:

Top speed stock is 208 per the factory.
This one has some performance mods, have had it to 218 so far, has more in it...

Brakes are OEM CCB (carbon/ceramic), rotors are $12k each
Everything about this car is expensive.
Primary construction material is carbon fiber. Weighs 2910 lbs dry. Runs low 9's in 1/4 if traction is adequate. 0-100 in 5.1 It will outrun gen 1 busa.

Leg is same as originally amputated in 2009, (4" below knee). Still hurts, learn to live with it.

I'm planning on repairing Busa and riding it.

good grief dems bigguns!

looks like some sort of button type race rotor? semi floating? Brembo has floating versions the GT or gran tourismo float but they are not composite.. stainless I believe? are those heat sensitive or do you just use a street type pad in them no need to build heat to get optimal performance?

clearly not a car you would even want to scratch, the maintenance must be insane, are you able to do oil changes and such or do they make you take it to the service center?

hows it do on gas, MPG?

Floating calipers, rotors made of carbon fiber. Pads are ceramic.  They are not carbon-carbon like F1. So don't require heat to work.
If you don't get them too hot, the rotors last the life of the car.
This car is all about F1 racing technology,  it has brake steer, where if the car detects understeer, it will apply brake to inside rear wheel to increase turn-in. Notice that it also does not have shock absorbers or sway bars. It is a fully-active hydraulic suspension that is controlled by the suspension computer, keeping the car flat in the turns, no body roll. It also provides three levels of firmness,  the softess setting makes it ride like a Cadillac. In the firmest setting, it can jar your teeth loose. It also has active aerodynamics on the rear wing. This increases downforce when required and also goes full vertical,  acting as an airbrake.
All three of these technologies were developed by McLaren for F1 racing and were subsequently outlawed due to their effectiveness.
An oil change at the dealer is $6k, I do this myself.
Spark plug replacement requires removal of the engine, a $65k service  at the dealer. I hope I don't need plugs anytime soon. (60k service interval, I  have less than 20k on it)
If you drive it at 65 mph, it will get 30 mpg. At 100 mph, it gets 16-18 mpg.
