Just sent via pp, thanks for the service, I guess I just never stopped long enough to ponder how the site worked. I just thought the board was controlled by an alien entity. Wait, I still do.

I admit this is a great site,

and I appreciate the suggestions and input from all of you.

And it wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Dennis.
Though it may have started out as a tool to help enhance his business, he truely spends a shitload of time here and has an infinate knowledge base when it comes to the busa and continually shares that with all of us.

I want to give a donation, but I believe its just as important to be humble about.

PayPal can set up montly subscription deductions.  I'm already making montly payments to the Smirking Chimp and White Rose Society sites. If Dennis were to set something like that up I'd be willing to sign up. If he were to offer some premiums for subscribers I'd bet this site would more than pay for itself.

Why don't we just have a annual fee of $10.00 after you are a member for 6 mos to help with the cost of the site. If all the members paid the fee Dennis would have no problem and the it is not charity, more like paying for a service.

Great thread Pat.  I have never given to any site, I think I'm going to start with a few that I frequent.  This site is hands down the most informative Busa site.

I know MH probably won't do this but why not have a $5 - $10 annual membership fee?  It would generate the necessary funds to run the site, and weed out people who either don't value the site, or have established ID's and are gone?

Just a thought.....

I'm guessing he wants us to give if this is what we call home. Most of us do.I also believe that all of us are responsible enough to not need someone to tell us our annual fee is due.      Just keep in mind down the road that it does cost and once in a while give a little back. Except Pooh. He should be set for a few years.    damn nice donation Pooh. Maybe I shouldn't put that up here but give credit where credit is due.        Thanks again everybody.

You should read Feet of Clay by Anthony Storr.  It's for "thinking men".

"Religious faith is an answer to the problem of life....The majority of mankind want or need some all-embracing belief system which purports to provide an answer to life's mysteries, and are not necessarilly dismayed by the discovery that their belief system, which they proclaim as "the truth", is incompatible with the beliefs of other people.  One man's faith is another man's delusion.....

Whether a belief is considered to be a delusion or not depends partly upon the intensity with which it is defended, and partly the number of people subscribing to it."

In any event Pat, let's not continue this side discussion on a thread intended to generate funds for the site.

Peace?

Why not just shut the fuck up and send instead of just talking about it?

How about this:

All members that have 'talked' about sending money, but haven't yet...they should send $100.

And those that that want members' fees should send $200.

Any member whos number is more than 3000 and hasn't sent money should send $300.
