prob about 200,000 mi. , 100 plus drag passes, few track days, numerous crashes, most minor, minor scars, 1 broke rib, 46 plus years.

Built a minibike when I was 11, then rode dirtbikes for years. Got first streetbike when 18...a gs500em rode friends gixxer750 for a season. Then got my busa in april. Put 8000 miles on.

I bought my Busa in 2001. 21 yrs on the street prior........One GS 750 (16 valve), Numerous GS 1100/1150s - still own a Black/Red Pro Street 1150 ( 1428, 67.5", inverted forks, Cosman wheels, etc.,etc..) Too many air/oil cooled GSX-Rs to count.....still have an 86' 1100 R w/Carrillo's, lock-up, Nitrous, 62", etc., and a 86' 750/1127 R for track days (road course). Owned a couple of 96' 750 SRADs (amazing bikes when they were released), a 1200 Bandit that I later turbo'd, a 97' TL 1000 S that I loved - especially on a road course! My Busa is a Black/Gray 99' that now has 53,500 miles on it. I've only made approx. 30 passes at the drag strip on it in all these years, with my best being a 9.59 at 146.27 mph foot shifting. Best et & mph on same pass......very unusual. I use this bike for commuting more than anything else. I also presently own a 05' GSX-R 1000, and a 04' GSX-R 750 track bike (road course).

I never even sat on a motorcyle until I got a Busa. Back in 05 or so my friends were all picking up 600, 750's etc. I didn't know squat about cycles and seeing how I always have to have the best of everything I asked them what is the best motorcycle out there they said Hayabusa and said I would be nuts to buy one. Well, on my second one and about to go Turbo.

I do remember reading the post on the org about the busa being a first bike, I got dissapointed when I read it but got it anyway since I had a hefty background in musclecars so I knew how to respect the speed. Haven't looked back!

I think you are a lucky guy. Heck I know an experienced harley rider, big guy about 275 or so all muscle, tons of riding experience mostly harley, got on a Busa and wiped it out in about 20 feet!

It must be your age and your smarts that saved you.

4 years for me,didnt want to part my SV 400 suzuki.But left with no choice since i cant get parts for the bike

my first street bike was a brand new gsxr 1100 back in 1989, that was a real cool bike at that time, I think it still is. second bike is my 03 busa, that has just turned 3000 miles.. I really like the first gen busa look, better than the gen 2..

Wow! My first street bike was a Kaw 400 but only because I started working on bikes at a dealer. Since then I have owned too many bikes to list but love the Suzuki's. Oil coolers and busa's are my favs now. Started riding dirt first when I was like 10 so like almosrt 25 years. Seems like yesterday I just learned how to use a clutch. LOL

probably close to 25 years riding before I got my 2000. No idea how many miles that is. Not many though.

First bike was CBR1100XX BLACKBIRD when i was 18. Busa came 4 years later in 2005. Does not include dirt riding years as a kid

bought my 01 brand new in june of 01' at age 19.

had about a year and a half time into a used 97 gixxer 600 when i bought the busa.

shit that was a nearly a decade ago,,,, blah!!!

Had several cruisers through the years but hadnt been on a bike in several....then bought a 2006 Katana(my first sport type bike), rode it for about 6 months and traded it in on the busa.

I have been riding since 12 or so, my 03 busa was my 10th bike or so, Trillium had been riding her gs 500 for one year when she bought her first busa from Louis(hayabusa200) on here, she found it a little heavy at first but no problems..... Jody

I had a 6OO for about 5 month's then went to a busa and love it i started 6O 180 and now im doing 137 Lol lol it think i would do better if i didnt live in ny and had more riding time

Tons of dirt bike time, then bought a 954 new in december '04, crashed it in july '07 with 30,000 miles on the clock (wish I still had that one). Picked the busa up in february '08.
