« on: May 30, 2012, 06:33:57 PM »
YES I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE OUT HERE HAS HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE MEGASQUIRT BOX FROM VELOCITY . I HAVE A STAGE TWO PIGGY BACK SYSTEM. WE ARE HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE SOFTWARE THAT THEY ARE GIVING US. THE RPM RANGE IS ONLY SHOWING HALF THE RPM'S THAT THE MOTOR IS REALLY RUNNING. SO THEREFORE  IT'S MAKING IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TUNE.  WE NEED SOME HELP HERE!!  DROP ME A LINE AT
     TURBO39622@AOL.COM   THANK  YOU! :tu:

When I used the MS we had to go into the program and change the # of cyl or something like that to make it work.  So there is somewhere in the software to fix that  just can't remember where.  Mine wasn't a velocity box but sure it is the same thing

His bike is here now, and the software does not alter the rpm at all, I believe this is an MS2 box. You can set it for a 1 cyl. engine and the rpm will read half, set it for a 2 cyl. rpm it reads half, 3 cyl. reads half, all the way up to a 10 cyl. and it still reads half, even if you change it from a 4 cycle engine to a 2 cycle it still reads half, its as if the functions to make the changes have not been enabled. Basically I have rescaled the fuel table so that it can be tuned, first I have seen the latest kits. All I am going to say is product would not leave here fitting like the parts do on this bike, it requires a 1" gas tank spacer just to keep the fuel tank from hitting the BOV. I could go on, but I have work to do.

I wish it was that simple, this new Velocity box is tied in with the main wiring harness and is supposed to supply the signals for the MAP and BARO sensors, the factory Suzuki sensnor are no longer on the bike, FI light flashes, runs at 10:1 at idle, I asked about checking the codes and the owner said Jason told him to cut the wire that turns on the FI light, LOL

Nem I think it is about the same box I had on my old setup back in 2008/09   I couldn't get it to work the way I liked so bought the RCC kit

Now thats funny. :hys:

I believe the tuner studio only has 16x16 table for fueling. I'm actually thinking about doing a ms3 for a standalone. Looks cool but don't like 16x16. Cool thing about it is that you can keep your secondaries with one.

I'm not opposed to doing just large primaries but its a street bike and I just want it to run good off boost.

Greg fixed up the wiring harness, we installed a microtech, tuning was going great, and at 18 psi guess what? Power drops off hard, anyone want to make some guesses???

Obviously the bolt holding the fuel rail on is also coming loose, fuel and boost seeping out around it, soon the bolt will be in the engine.

That sucks.

a 16X16 table is plenty to tune a bike with. Hell, a 12X12 is plenty in reality.

As for the tank spacer, I've always had to use a spacer on mine as well, both with the stock tank and the catalyst tank.
Any day on a motorcycle like this that ends just needing parts and labor is a good day.

HELLO PEOPLE I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH ANOTHER CUSTOMER OF YOU KNOW WHO!! QUESS WHAT THEY WERE HAVING A PROBLEM WITH. TWO THINGS MEGA SQUIRT BOX AND JASON'S MOUTH  SO I WILL KEEP EVERYONE POSTED ON THE RESULTS OF THIS NIGHTMARE. THE PLENUIM FAILURE JUST TAKES THE CAKE. THE PROBLEM WITH THE BOX WAS AND IS THAT IT WOULDN'T GO OVER 8000 rpm BEFORE IT WOULD JUST SHUT THE BIKE OFF, AND IT WOULDN'T TAKE ANY CHANGES WE WERE TRYING TO MAKE WHILE IT WAS HOOKED UP ON THE DYNO.THE SOFTWARE IS JUNK , YES I SAID JUNK, I HAVE A VERY EXPERIENCED COMPUTER PROGRAMER THAT WORKS WITH ME. HE COULD BUILD ONE OF THESE THINGS IN HIS SLEEP. SO NEEDLESS TO SAY HE KNOWS WHAT HE'S TALKING ABOUT. THE RPM WOULD ONLY SHOW HALF, SO HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSE TO TUNE THIS THING PROBALLY. ALL OF THESE PARTS WHERE SHIPPED BACK TO JASON LAST NIGHT. SO THE CLOCK IS TICKING ON MY SECOND MISSED RACING SEASON. :td: OH YEAH AND MY WIFE IS MADD AS HELL!! SO NEEDLESS TO SAY I'M HAVING A GREAT DAY IN MICHIGAN WHERE WE ONLY GET SO MUCH RACING SEASON ANYWAY!! :bike: NOT!!  LIKE I SAID BEFORE " FURIOUS BUT NOT FAST"   STAY TUNED FOR THE RESULTS.

The bolt on my rail fell off and was chilling on the TB blade. Luckily it didn't get sucked in. C16 sprayed all over the place though, and that stuff is so cheap ya know.
Velocity also really cracked me up by running the fuel return line backwards; the pickup came from the top of the fuel pump and returned through the bottom. You had to have like 2 gallons to get fuel, and otherwise it gurgled from below like a natural gas spring. When he scotch taped his knock-off megasquirt box into the harness he took a few blind attempts at finding tach signal (never did), so basically butchered the harness.
his headers cracked after a few dyno sessions, the turbo failed and had to be replaced. water injection system flat out didn't function. hmm, what else? everything.

Did you ever get the problem solved with your mega squirt ecu from RPM Cycle Performance (Velocity Racing) which ever name you wanna use? I sent mine back 7 months ago and he promised to refund my money. I'm still waiting for my money.
