Apologies on double post / moderator, please adjust from "All Motor talk", or which ever best suits.  Thank you.

Just curious here.  Need to replace lower half of motor as my stator housing is damaged.  Drunk driver, trashed Busa.  Can I replace the the lower half with current upper half, or must I replace both as a matched set.  Need to hone cylinders, replace bearings / rings, and might as well do some tranny work while I'm in there.  What's the scoop on case halves ?.

Any help from experienced motor guys would be "greatly" appreciated !!  Thank you for the read.

Match case set or they will need line bore to match
