I try to impress on any of the guys like you and your wanting to mod your bike with the conventional stuff pipe, PC, or ECU flash, air box, dyno tune, and while some get good results 15 to 20HP is great but most don't get near that, 8 to 10 is about it, and for the cost of parts and labor if your paying somebody for the installation of parts and dyno time, not so much the dyno as you would have to do this no matter what mods were done, its just for my money that's a lot of hard earned bucks for maybe 10HP, .... the bike will sound better and may overall run a little better, and if that's all your after fine, do it, but just don't expect a super fast ass kicker, cause it won't happen, and you may end up pissed that you spent that money for so little return, I realize major eng mods where you might get 230-240 HP, or a turbo where 300+ is fairly easy to end up with are rather costly, a stage1 turbo kit with install and tune would cost about three times what the conventional mods would but you could get well over 100HP and I along with any of the other members on this forum will guarantee that will put on a much bigger smile than 10HP  :D

I am like you... tinker a bit and go from there. It's an open ended hobby.
