ABS Functionality
« on: October 16, 2017, 12:58:37 PM »
Hi Guys,

I have abs question, I have 2016 hayabusa, just installed ss brake lines, ebc hh pads, when I slam on the brakes it stops super fast, however from lower speeds I was able to pull a small stoppie, rear came up - am I suppose to even be able to do stoppies with abs, or abs makes sure that stoppies don’t happen ?

My understanding is that ABS is supposed to prevent your wheel from locking up by modulating the braking force by adjusting to the road surface, wet or sandy etc.  My Gen 1, also with SS lines and HH pads but w/o ABS can also lift the rear wheel w/o locking up the front...on good pavement.  I don't think there's anything wrong with your brakes.  Modulation is the key.

Thanks! I’m just curious what would happen if I had to stop in an emergency from 80mph, I would hate to see wheel lock up on me, which abs should modulate
