Hello Racers,
Have some good news. For those of you that were not certain if you could be ready for July, you have time.
Due to the uncertainty surrounding travel restrictions and the insufficient number of confirmed entries for July, we are disappointed to say that the MAINE EVENT IS CANCELLED. We fully understand the health worries, parts delayed due to shut downs, the Canadian border shut down, etc., but the numbers are just not there and to be frank, the numerous, “definite maybes” made in good faith just cannot bridge the gap.
So what does this mean?
We will likely have the biggest harvest event ever!
The Harvest Event will be extended to the same length as the Maine event, so Wednesday – Sunday, given sufficient entries.
We will roll all entries from the summer to the fall automatically so if you are coming, we do not need to hear from you.
If you would like a refund or roll to next year, PLEASE RESPOND to this email.
Please give a couple of weeks to get the responses and then I will do all the refunds at once.
As many of you know, last year was a very tough year for the LTA and this year is even worse. While we have appreciate the suggestions we have received, please understand that we run this event for land speed racers, period. We have had many suggestions ranging from mud runs, concerts, carnival rides, race your neighbor, beer tents, etc. and as I tell people, the main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing. The main thing here is getting together with the LTA family, and we intend on keeping it that way.
We certainly hope that the added entries from restrictions coming off and more time to prepare will keep the fall and the event viable.
We look forward to seeing all of soon.
Tim, Joe and the LTA gang.
