Clutch issue
« on: December 07, 2020, 12:32:13 PM »
Hayabusa folks, 2005 Gen 1 clutch, I have a billet basket all the rest is stock Gen 1 stuff. For some reason if I used the stock length pushrod on the slave side it held the clutch open. I had 4 stock pushrods all the same and one about 1/4 inch shorter. Tried different slave, different sprocket cover, replaced the center clutch pushrod, but the clutch only worked with the short pushrod--- and don't ask me where it came from!! Anyone else had this??

Perhaps an issue with the clutch master or reservoir?

It isn't over filled with fluid is it?

Stack height is good, double checked that as well. And have 3 pushrods on the bench at that length,  they don't work.

How about the throw-out bearing pusher?  Right one or switched with one from one of your other bike motors?
I suspect you already clamped the slave to push all the fluid out to start...

Yup, all of that---and measured the middle rod as well as swapping it---
Trust me, every single part of that system was swapped piece by piece to see what was going on
