Ten years ago this morning Bill Warner fired up his blue bullet and let it warm. Finally ready, the starter signaled track clear and off he went. 22 seconds later the historic "first bike over 300" was heard. A decade later it is still the fastest and still amazing. These achievements are not done alone but Bill was closer to being a one man show than most. He spent months making the body with nothing but jars of resin and sheets of glass mat. No molds just painstaking glue and sand until perfect. He did all the electronics and tuning spending many days learning MoTec from online tutorials. Add assembly, plumbing and painting ($30 of Rustoleum on sale at Home Depot). He wisely chose his friend Steve Knecum to build the engine. It takes someone special to pilot such a machine but that story must wait. Our team had a great meet this week with five records and a new naked all motor record. I hope Dean will post more. LSL
