Try here...once there, click on "modifications" --> "solo seat cowl" He has some pretty good pics of the steps and the results.  Hope this helps.

IMO, it looks silly as hell having the hump and grab rail on at the same time.

all of you haters must not be good with a dremel and are the same guys that run around with hacked up undertails.

I did the mod on mine and I like the way it looks. Kinda like a little spoiler. My grab bar is polished though.
previously owned a 01 blk/gry Busa little of this little of that...oh yeah and a ghetto turbo 320horse/200ft.lb. 8.92@169

Different strokes for different folks, I like the look without the grab bar and I'm sure to cut it out with a dremel tool is not exactly brain surgery, and It probably takes me a whole 2 minutes to switch from hump to rear seat with the grab bar!

I'm with the mod guys......I would not have it any other way.......without the bar, the rear drops off too fast, looks like it's missin somethin........just my .02........obviously a matter of personal preference.

Not to mention it makes it easer to put it on the race stand by your self with something to grab on to with gloves on and the hump with no bar it can be dicey to get a hold of the little bar under the left side of the tail.  Plus it is easer to switch from track to street, with a passenger.  Just my opinion.

Yah, but at the track I have my ’02 plastic on the bike and in order to remove the hump I have to find the key for the other bike, I don’t swap the lock with my new one, so it is a pain in the ass to balance the bike with one hand and dig through the tool box with the other, in full leather and helmet.

At first I thought it was dumb too, but after seeing several pics I decided to try it.  I know think it looks good and it makes it easier putting the bike on the rear stand.   And it looks even better chromed.
just cause it fits doesn't mean it looks right.
