intake to exhaust ratio

What do you guys aim for for intake to exhaust flow, 75%?If so do the current batch of cams around suit this ratio or the stock in/out ratio.I,m told the exhaust needs a bit of work and would that then allow you to run a smaller exhaust cam to minimise overlap and maximise bottom end?

You will gain a good bit working on the exhaust side. Most people don't realize this because it's not as "glamorous" as big intake ports. You can go higher than 75%....that's old school. 85%  to 90% will work especially with large engines (IMO). In general, you can control overlap (unless you run a lot of duration which I don't recommend in general) with cam timing. Keep in mind though....I'm stuck in the mid 70's...er... I mean 80's.
